Job Overview
A law firm seeks a Senior Civil Litigation Attorney specializing in personal injury to join their team in Irving, TX. This role offers the opportunity to lead litigation efforts within the state, manage a personal injury caseload, and contribute to the firm's growth and expansion.
Duties- Manage a personal injury caseload from intake through resolution.
- Handle MVA, CVA, catastrophic injury, wrongful death, and complex injury claims.
- Develop litigation strategies and oversee all phases of litigation.
- Conduct depositions, mediations, hearings, and settlement negotiations.
- Prepare and try cases when settlement is not in the client's best interest.
- Work closely with paralegals, case managers, and support staff to maximize outcomes.
- Assist in establishing and growing personal injury operations within the state.
- Develop relationships with medical providers, treatment facilities, and expert witnesses.
- Identify and establish relationships with investigators and other litigation professionals.
- Provide guidance regarding local court rules and jurisdiction-specific requirements.
- Collaborate with firm leadership to ensure consistent client service and litigation standards.
- Assist with training and mentoring future attorneys, paralegals, and litigation staff.
- Maintain exceptional communication with clients throughout the life of the case.
- Provide strategic legal advice and case evaluations.
- Deliver favorable outcomes through settlement or trial.
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
- Active license and good standing in Ohio, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Washington, California, or New York.
- Minimum 10 years of plaintiff personal injury litigation experience.
- Extensive MVA and CVA litigation experience required.
- Significant deposition, mediation, and courtroom experience.
- First-chair trial experience strongly preferred.
- Strong legal writing, negotiation, and advocacy skills.
- Ability to independently manage a litigation docket.
- Experience working remotely while maintaining high productivity and responsiveness.
- Established relationships with medical providers, experts, and litigation support professionals are a plus.
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
CertificationsActive license and good standing in Ohio, Massachusetts, North Carolina, Washington, California, or New York.
