POSITION PURPOSE
Striking Brands is seeking an experienced Contract Paralegal to provide legal and administrative support to the CEOs of 9
Round and iLoveKickboxing.
This is a part-time, 1099 independent-contractor engagement requiring up to 10 hours per week. The contractor will assist with franchise administration and enforcement, Franchise Disclosure Document administration and state registrations, contracts, intellectual property matters, litigation support, legal research, and other corporate legal projects. These responsibilities are consistent with the primary duties outlined in the existing position description.
The position will be performed primarily remotely. However, applicants must currently live within reasonable commuting distance of our Simpsonville, South Carolina corporate office and be available to attend occasional in-person meetings or complete onsite projects as needed. Relocation assistance is not available.
The contractor will provide legal and administrative support to the CEO’s of 9
Round and iLoveKickboxing and will coordinate with company leadership, outside legal counsel, franchisees, vendors, and other departments as necessary.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Reviews, organizes, and maintains franchise documentation.
- Assists with franchise compliance and enforcement matters.
- Assists with annual Franchise Disclosure Document updates and applicable state registrations.
- Maintains databases for contracts, vendors, health-club membership agreements, and other legal records.
- Drafts, proofreads, edits, and distributes contracts, official communications, franchise documents, and other legal materials.
- Conducts legal research and prepares drafts, summaries, correspondence, and supporting documentation.
- Assists with litigation-support matters, including document organization, deadline tracking, and communication with outside legal counsel.
- Assists with the administration and organization of the company’s intellectual property portfolio.
- Supports the development and implementation of corporate policies, procedures, and legal-compliance initiatives.
- Maintains accurate, organized, and confidential legal and business records.
- Tracks legal deadlines, renewals, registrations, filings, and other time-sensitive matters.
- Successfully completes special projects and other agreed-upon assignments.
- Performs other mutually agreed-upon legal-support services that are consistent with the scope of the independent-contractor engagement.
