The Role

Open Train AI is recruiting a Commercial Real Estate Litigation Attorney for a project focused on modeling and evaluating multi-turn commercial real estate disputes. You will produce authentic litigation work product, assess legal responses, and maintain continuity in case theory as disputes develop across multiple engagement turns.

This role is designed for a practicing or formerly practicing US attorney with substantial litigation experience. You will work under senior direction and use your legal knowledge to create high-quality drafts and evaluation criteria.

What You’ll Do

You will mirror the workflow of submitting litigation drafts for partner review while adapting your work to an evolving, multi-turn dispute. Each contribution should reflect strong legal analysis, an appropriate legal register, and continuity across the case.

  • Draft motions, briefs, demand letters, discovery, and other authentic litigation work product
  • Respond to evolving commercial real estate disputes through turn-by-turn deliverables
  • Work under senior direction and submit drafts for review
  • Develop and document rubric items describing criteria for strong responses to opposing counsel submissions
  • Incorporate senior feedback efficiently during each round
  • Maintain continuity in case theory across multiple engagement turns
  • Identify and flag procedural uncertainties, missing information, and factual ambiguities requiring resolution
Required Qualifications

Applicants must bring substantial US litigation experience and a demonstrated commercial real estate litigation background. The project requires the ability to draft complex legal documents under direction and communicate nuanced analysis in exemplary written English.

  • Active or lapsed US bar license in at least one jurisdiction
  • At least 3 years of post-JD US litigation experience
  • Real-world experience with drafting, discovery, and motion practice
  • Background in commercial real estate litigation involving leases, transactions, development, landlord-tenant matters, zoning, or financing
  • Ability to draft complex litigation documents under direction
  • Exemplary written English and strong legal analysis skills
