Costs Draftsman

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

Working Pattern: Full-time

Total Legal Solutions, in partnership with Har Kaye Core Talent, is looking to appoint an experienced Law Costs Draftsman to join its established and growing team.

This is a fully remote opportunity suited to someone with strong costs drafting experience who can confidently manage their own workload while delivering accurate, high-quality work for clients.

• Preparing detailed bills of costs for assessment
• Drafting costs schedules and statements of costs
• Preparing points of dispute and replies
• Reviewing files and assessing recoverable costs
• Managing a varied caseload from instruction through to completion
• Negotiating costs and supporting the settlement process
• Working closely with solicitors and other legal professionals
• Ensuring all work is completed accurately and within agreed timescales
• Maintaining clear communication with clients throughout each matter

The successful candidate will have:

• Previous experience working as a Law Costs Draftsman
• A strong understanding of costs law, procedure and relevant court rules
• Experience preparing bills of costs and associated documentation
• The ability to manage a busy caseload independently
• Excellent attention to detail
• Strong written communication and negotiation skills
• The ability to work effectively within a remote team
• Experience using legal costs software would be advantageous
