The attorney will also assist the firm's clients—including operators, landowners, and other industry participants with a variety of upstream oil and gas matters.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Examine complex mineral, leasehold, royalty, overriding royalty, and working interest title.
  • Prepare acquisition, drilling, division order, supplemental, and other oil and gas title opinions.
  • Analyze oil and gas leases, assignments, deeds, probate proceedings, pooling instruments, operating agreements, and other title-related documents.
  • Identify and clearly explain title defects, ownership issues, and curative requirements.
  • Advise operators, landowners, and other clients regarding general upstream oil and gas matters.
  • Work collaboratively with the firm's attorneys, landmen, brokers, and clients to complete projects accurately and efficiently.

This is a full-time, 100% remote position. Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience and qualifications.

  • Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school.
  • Active license to practice law in Texas and membership in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
  • Experience examining oil and gas title and preparing title opinions is preferred.
