NEW Solutions connects experienced workers (ages 55+) with the Office of Policy, Management, and Budget (PMB). These experienced professionals provide administrative expertise, facilities management, natural and cultural resource planning, and a broad array of other professional skills that support the Office of Policy, Management, and Budget through the Experienced Services Program (ESP).
Positions listed here do not guarantee employment for any definite period. Enrollment in the Experienced Worker Programs administered by NEW Solutions is temporary. The enrollment relationship between NEW Solutions and the Enrollee is an “at-will” relationship. This means that an Enrollee is free to terminate enrollment at any time during the enrollment period, and NEW Solutions and the Agency have the right to terminate the relationship with the Enrollee.

An “Enrollee” is not a federal employee, nor an employee of NEW Solutions. An “Enrollee” is a participant in a grant program established through a Cooperative Agreement funded by the agency and administered by NEW Solutions.

Hours:28 hours/week
Duties:This position will support the Probate Hearings Division Administrative Law Judges (ALJ) and Indian Probate Judges (IPJ) for in-person or virtual hearings. Enrollees will apply the specialized rules of practice of the Department and the OHA in the conduct of hearings; follow processes for case docket management; and utilize a control system to monitor the status of cases.
- Administer oaths, conduct evidentiary hearings, and support Indian Probate proceedings under judicial supervision.
- Evaluate pleadings, testimony, evidence, and legal or procedural motions.
- Manage hearings and witness proceedings, evaluate legal arguments and evidence, conduct legal research, and draft findings, orders, and decisions.
- Implement and provide support for modernization efforts.
- Make reviewable determinations on evidence admissibility, witness credibility, and other rulings.
- Must be 55 years or older.
- JD or LLB with 15 years of experience in attorney roles
- Must maintain an active law license and be an active member of the bar, duly licensed and authorized to practice law as an attorney under the laws of any state, territory of the U.S., or the District of Columbia.
