A nationally recognized, multi-office civil defense firm is seeking a Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join its Mississippi team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney seeking sophisticated casework, experienced mentorship, modern legal resources, and long-term advancement within a growing regional platform.
Responsibilities- Manage workers' compensation matters from initial assignment through resolution
- Represent employers, insurance carriers, and self-insured clients
- Investigate claims and evaluate potential exposure
- Conduct depositions and prepare witnesses
- Draft pleadings, motions, discovery, legal opinions, and settlement documents
- Attend hearings, mediations, conferences, and other proceedings
- Develop case strategies and provide practical recommendations to clients
- Maintain consistent communication with clients, opposing counsel, and claims professionals
- Manage deadlines and caseload responsibilities efficiently
- Juris Doctor from an accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Mississippi and in good standing
- Workers' compensation defense experience preferred
- Insurance defense or civil litigation experience will also be considered
- Strong legal research, writing, communication, and analytical skills
- Ability to manage cases independently while collaborating with attorneys and support professionals
