Associate Counsel - West Orange, NJ; Remote

For our client, we are seeking a Associate Counsel - West Orange, NJ (Remote) to join the team of a leader in the Finance & Insurance space. This role will support insurance defense litigation matters from strategy through resolution, with regular involvement in claims evaluation, court proceedings, and case preparation. The attorney will work closely with internal claims partners and other legal professionals to provide practical guidance on liability, damages, and settlement value.

The position also offers the opportunity to handle a wide range of litigation tasks in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Location:

Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $118,900 - $186,550 annually

• Research laws and prepare legal briefs, opinions, and memoranda
• Provide opinions on liability, damages, and value for the Claims Department
• Prepare and handle pleadings, motions, and discovery
• Defend assigned matters through trial or dispositive hearing
• Conduct depositions and examinations under oath when necessary

• 2 to 6+ years of litigation experience in insurance defense and/or personal injury required
• Juris Doctor degree required
• Admission to the New Jersey Bar required
• Licensed in good standing to practice law in New Jersey
• Ability to travel for trials, hearings, depositions, and meetings
• Strong written communication skills for clear documentation
• Capable of following complex instructions and managing multiple priorities
