Insurance Defense Attorney

Compensation: $150,000 - $180,000 per year, with bonus opportunities and a target of 1,800 billable hours.

We are a premier civil litigation law firm in Central Texas with offices in Austin and San Antonio, handling high‑stakes insurance defense cases, including coverage disputes, bad faith claims, product liability, general liability, and professional liability.

• Defend clients in a wide variety of insurance matters.
• Draft pleadings, briefs, motions, and discovery documents; take and defend depositions.
• Manage caseload from intake through trial or resolution, strategizing case directions with senior partners.
• Handle litigation in both state and federal courts across Texas.
• Negotiate settlements, work with experts, prepare for mediation or arbitration, and see cases through trial when needed.
• Mentor more junior attorneys or associates when experience warrants it.

• Admitted to practice in Texas.
• 5–10 years of experience defending insurance matters in litigation and trial settings.
• Strong legal writing, motion practice, negotiation, and courtroom presence.
• Success in a collaborative, high‑standards environment, balancing independence with teamwork.
• Ability to manage multiple cases with shifting priorities.
