Role
Description:
This full-time Litigation Attorney role at Chan + Punzalan focuses on representing business clients in a variety of civil litigation matters. The attorney will draft and argue motions, manage discovery, take and defend depositions, and prepare cases for trial in state and federal courts. Daily responsibilities include legal research, case strategy development, client counseling, and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
Although the firm has physical offices in San Francisco's Financial District, remote candidates will be considered.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law, including civil litigation, business disputes, and procedural rules.
- Experience drafting, reviewing, and arguing Motions, including dispositive and discovery motions.
- Background appearing before and interacting with Courts, including state and federal venues.
- Hands-on involvement in Trials, including trial preparation, examination of witnesses, and evidence presentation.
- Proficiency conducting Depositions, including taking, defending, and analyzing deposition testimony.
- Active license to practice law in California, in good standing.
- 4+ years of litigation experience in a law firm or in-house environment, preferably with business clients.
- Excellent legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills, with strong attention to detail and organization.
- Ability to manage multiple matters, meet deadlines, and work both independently and collaboratively in a hybrid setting.
- Commitment to ethical practice, client service, and maintaining professional, inclusive working relationships.
