We are a national network of experienced, high-level freelance attorneys and paralegals who provide remote, on-demand support for both short-term and long-term legal projects for our client law firms.
Due to increased demand, we are now interviewing for a qualified, experienced, and dependable South Carolina Insurance Defense Litigation Attorney to provide drafting, discovery, and litigation coverage support.
This is a contract-based opportunity expected to start with a lighter workload and build to approximately 10–15 hours per week
. The work will primarily be remote, but the attorney must be available to provide deposition and hearing coverage
, including in-person appearances when required.
- Draft complaints, answers, and other pleadings
- Prepare and respond to written discovery
- Draft and assist with carrier reports
- Attend hearings and other court appearances as needed
- Assist with insurance defense case management
- Communicate regularly with the supervising attorneys
- Track assignments and meet deadlines and billing requirements
- Licensed and in good standing in South Carolina
- Minimum of 5+ years of law firm experience
- Experience drafting pleadings and discovery responses
- Comfortable handling depositions and hearings
- Familiar with insurance carrier billing requirements
- Able to work within assignment-level time and billing guidelines
- Highly responsive, dependable, and communicative
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Available for approximately 10–15 hours per week as the workload builds
- Located in South Carolina
- Personal injury defense experience
- Experience with carrier billing portals such as LegalX or Collaborati
- Willing and able to provide in-person coverage in South Carolina, including upstate matters when needed
- Approximately 10–15 hours per week once fully ramped up
- Workload expected to build gradually
- Primarily remote drafting and discovery work
- Approximately 90% of depositions are currently remote
- Opportunity for ongoing work supporting two active insurance defense caseloads
- Mix of construction defect and personal injury defense matters
Our Attorney pay rate starts at $80/hour
