Latitude is seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to join a Michigan-based boutique law firm on a part-time basis. Interested candidates should have at least 5 years of civil litigation experience, preferably in commercial litigation and/or landlord/tenant matters, including preparing cases for trial, representing clients in court, and managing all phases of the litigation process. Candidates must have a proven ability to handle cases independently.
Excellent academic credentials, written and oral advocacy skills are a must. Candidates must be licensed and in good standing in Michigan. The is a remote position but candidates must live in Michigan to attend court appearances and depositions as needed.
- Handling a caseload of litigation matters, developing legal strategies, and preparing cases for trial
- Conducting discovery, including drafting and responding to interrogatories, requests for production, and other discovery documents
- Preparing and arguing motions, attending hearings, and participating in settlement negotiations
- Representing clients in court, including trials, hearings, and appeals
- Maintaining regular communication with clients to provide updates on case progress and explain legal strategies
- 5+ years of civil litigation experience, preferably at a large law firm
- Commercial litigation and/or landlord/tenant experience preferred
- Licensed to practice and in good standing in Michigan
- J.D. from an accredited law school and excellent academic credentials
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, professional law firm setting
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Excellent written and oral advocacy skills

Pay:
The annualized pay for this position ranges from $140,000-$165,000 when calculated on a full-time basis. Pay for contract engagements is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, location, market supply/demand, and the candidate’s preference (each candidate’s pay rate affects the client bill rate which can affect the candidate’s competitiveness for the position).
