Open Train is recruiting a Contract Redlining Attorney for a confidential law and AI training project. You will review commercial agreements using established playbooks and company policy positions, identify legal and business issues, determine acceptable fallback outcomes, and explain the reasoning behind proposed revisions.

The role focuses on practical transactional judgment across MSAs, NDAs, DPAs, and similar documents. You will help improve how AI systems interpret, reason about, and respond to commercial legal documents.

• Remote contractor opportunity for attorneys based in the United States
• Part-time engagement requiring 20+ hours per week
• Hourly pay range of $90-$110

You will review and redline commercial agreements in line with established playbooks and policy positions. Your analyses should clearly identify key risks, negotiation priorities, appropriate fallback outcomes, and the rationale for proposed redlines or revisions.

The work also involves applying contract drafting, negotiation, and technology transactions knowledge to practical legal documents. You will collaborate with other contributors to maintain consistent standards and interpretations while working independently and maintaining a high level of accuracy and legal writing quality.

• Explain redline decisions and commercial tradeoffs in clear written analyses
• Apply contract drafting and negotiation judgment to AI training tasks
• Collaborate with contributors to maintain consistent interpretations

Applicants must have a Juris Doctor degree from an accredited law school, active bar admission in a U.S. jurisdiction, and at least four years of transactional practice in a law firm or in-house setting. Hands-on experience drafting, reviewing, and negotiating commercial contracts is required.

You should be able to synthesize complex legal concepts into clear written analysis and demonstrate strong judgment, accuracy, and attention to detail in contract interpretation. You must also be able to identify the relevant jurisdictional authorization for your bar admission.

• At least four years of transactional practice in a law firm or in-house setting
• Hands-on commercial contract drafting, review, and negotiation experience
• Experience assessing liability, indemnification, confidentiality, and data protection provisions
• Strong written communication, legal analysis, and contract interpretation skills

Experience with technology transactions is especially valuable. Familiarity with applying standardized contracting positions while balancing commercial priorities will also help you evaluate agreements consistently and explain practical negotiation outcomes.
