Bizzano Law, LLC is a boutique firm based in Lake Oswego, Oregon. Our practice focuses on contested guardian ships and conservatorships, trust and estate litigation, and fiduciary disputes, with occasional real estate and business matters.

We are seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney with at least five years of experience to join our team on a part-time basis, with the opportunity for the position to grow into a full-time role. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who enjoys litigation and wants meaningful responsibility, interesting work, and the flexibility and collegiality of a small-firm environment.

You will be involved in all aspects of cases, from developing strategy and working directly with clients to taking depositions, arguing motions, handling contested hearings, negotiating resolutions, and preparing cases for trial. Depending on experience, you will have opportunities to independently manage matters while collaborating with the firm's other attorneys on larger and more complex cases.

• Manage litigation matters with an appropriate level of independence based on experience
• Develop case strategy and participate in collaborative strategy discussions
• Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery, and other substantive legal documents
• Take and defend depositions
• Prepare for and appear at contested hearings and trials
• Conduct legal research and analyze complex legal and factual issues
• Communicate directly with clients and opposing counsel
• Attend mediations and settlement negotiations
• Work collaboratively with attorneys and staff to provide excellent representation to our clients

• 5+ years of legal experience with significant litigation experience
• Experience taking and defending depositions
• Experience handling contested hearings and trials
• Excellent legal research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
• Superior written and oral communication skills
• Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills
• A strong ethical compass, sound judgment, and a commitment to fairness and justice
• The ability to manage deadlines and competing priorities
• The ability to work independently while also thriving in a collaborative team environment
• Admission to the Oregon State Bar in good standing

Experience with probate, trusts and estates, guardian ships, conservatorships, fiduciary litigation, and/or estate planning is a significant plus, but is not required.

You will have the opportunity to do substantive legal work and play a meaningful role in our cases. You will have direct client contact, participate in strategic decisions, and take responsibility for moving matters forward.
