Job Description & How to Apply Below

Poplar & Mason, LLC is an established small Ohio law practice seeking an experienced Associate Attorney to join us in Sheffield Village. We are looking for a talented litigator who is ready to take real ownership of their own cases and client matters — not someone who needs to be trained from the ground up, but a capable colleague who can hit the ground running.

This is a hybrid-remote position to start, with an expectation of transitioning to a greater in-person presence over time. It offers substantial autonomy, variety, and the opportunity to build a genuinely long-term career with the firm.

We focus on representing businesses and insureds, with a focus in the automotive industry and auto dealers. The successful candidate will take responsibility for their own caseload across one or more of the following areas:

Motor vehicle sales and titling

Business Litigation

Consumer law and litigation (business side)

Insurance defense / casualty litigation

Employment law and litigation (employer side)

Ohio Attorney General, OCRC, EEOC Investigations

Business and Property transactions/acquisitions

Business entity formation and governance

Litigation experience is required. Experience and/or genuine interest in one or more of the practice areas above is preferred. Prior experience in the automotive industry or representing auto dealers is a significant plus, though not essential. We are looking for:

Substantive litigation experience and the demonstrated ability to independently manage a caseload from intake through resolution

This is not an entry-level position; we are seeking a self-sufficient attorney who is ready to take ownership of client matters with minimal oversight

Exceptional organizational skills, with the ability to independently manage competing deadlines and a full, varied caseload

Comfort conducting legal research under Ohio law, federal law, and the laws of other states as matters require

Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while consistently tracking and meeting a high volume of deadlines

An unwavering commitment to client confidentiality and discretion in handling sensitive files

Genuine interest in representing automotive dealers

We are looking to build a lasting professional relationship, not fill a short-term role. The successful candidate can expect to take on steadily increasing responsibility for client relationships and firm matters over time — including the opportunity to grow into an expanded leadership role and, over time, inherit and build upon an established, loyal client base cultivated over more than two decades.

For the right attorney, this is a rare chance to step into a thriving practice with genuine long-term equity and leadership potential.

Salary commensurate with experience andtied to productivity and performance — we believe strongly in performance/productivity-based compensation
