Open Train is seeking a Contract Redlining Attorney to review corporate contract scenarios and help train and evaluate legal AI models. You will apply practical judgment from M&A and technology transactions to simulated negotiations, redlining exercises, and assessments of AI-generated legal responses.

The work is remote, part-time contract work with an expected commitment of 20 or more hours per week. Assignments have an average handling time of approximately 3.5 hours, and compensation ranges from $90 to $130 per hour.

You will translate nuanced commercial and legal decisions into clear, consistent feedback that can be used to improve legal AI systems. The work centers on corporate and M&A agreements, including asset purchase agreements and stock purchase agreements.

• Perform simulated contract negotiations and redlining exercises involving corporate and M&A agreements.
• Review AI responses to contract scenarios for accuracy, risk identification, and legal judgment.
• Create objective evaluation frameworks and grading criteria for contract-related model performance.
• Identify contractual risk and explain commercially appropriate negotiation decisions.
• Collaborate with product and research teams to refine data, guidelines, and best practices for legal AI review.
• Provide actionable feedback on AI-generated legal responses.
• Apply legal standards across jurisdictions while explaining your reasoning in a structured way.

This role requires substantial legal training and practical M&A experience. The listed experience level is entry level, but applicants must meet the specific professional requirements below.

• J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active bar admission in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
• At least two years of experience in the M&A department of a corporate law firm.
• Familiarity with standard M&A agreements, including asset purchase agreements and stock purchase agreements.
• Ability to evaluate contract language and explain legal judgment in a structured way.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical ability and meticulous attention to detail.
• Ability to create consistent grading criteria and actionable feedback for AI-generated legal responses.

Prior exposure to AI, legal technology, or training initiatives is helpful. Experience with private equity firms and collaboration with cross-disciplinary product or research teams may also support success in this role.
