About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Legal Assistant to join their specialized family law practice in Paarl . This role is vital in providing support to attorneys managing sensitive and complex family law cases, including divorce, child custody, and spousal support matters. You will be responsible for managing client communications, preparing legal documents, and ensuring the efficient administration of cases.

The ideal candidate is compassionate, highly organized, and committed to supporting clients through challenging personal circumstances, working within a supportive legal team in the heart of the Cape Winelands region of Paarl .

• Assist attorneys in preparing and filing legal documents for family law proceedings.
• Manage client communications, scheduling appointments, and maintaining case calendars.
• Organize and maintain client files, ensuring confidentiality and accuracy.
• Conduct preliminary research on relevant statutes and case law pertaining to family matters.
• Prepare correspondence to clients, opposing counsel, and the courts.
• Process incoming mail and manage electronic document delivery systems.

• A minimum of 3 years of experience as a Legal Assistant, with a focus on family law .
• Proficiency in legal terminology and procedures specific to family law.
• Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.

Proficiency with legal practice management software and MS Office Suite.
