Tech Transactions Attorney, In-House

The work

Open Train is hiring a Contract Redlining Attorney to support legal AI training and evaluation. You will use practical legal judgment to review technology transaction materials, assess AI-generated contract responses, and help improve how models identify risk and interpret contract language.

• Review and redline technology transaction documents, including MSAs, NDAs, ISDAs, and derivatives agreements.
• Perform simulated contract negotiations and assess the legal and commercial effect of proposed language.
• Evaluate AI responses for accuracy, risk recognition, precision, and practical legal judgment.
• Create objective grading criteria and evaluation frameworks for contract-related AI tasks.
• Give clear feedback to improve model performance and contract-review outputs.
• Work with product and research teams to refine data, guidelines, and practices for AI-driven legal review.

This is a part-time, remote contractor role. Compensation is tied to completed and approved tasks, with an ideal rate range of $90 to $130 per hour.

  At least three years of in-house experience focused on technology transactions.

• Strengths:
  Clear written and verbal communication, close attention to detail, structured legal judgment, and the ability to explain decisions in an actionable way.
• Teamwork:
  Experience working with cross-disciplinary teams.
• Helpful background:
  Experience with AI, legal technology, or training initiatives; corporate law firm experience in M&A or private-equity fund formation is also relevant.

AI training is the human work behind systems that review and generate text, code, images, and other content. Legal experts help by judging model responses against real professional standards, so strong subject-matter experience is important when models need to recognize risk and apply contract language accurately.
