The Senior Attorney reviews case files, analyzes evidence, conducts legal research, and drafts Proposed Memorandums of Decision in response to appeals filed under the Workers' Compensation Law and related benefit laws. Working under an Associate Attorney at the Workers' Compensation Board's Office of General Counsel in Brooklyn, the role involves legal analysis, case law research, and submission of decisions for supervisory review.
This is a hybrid position with both in-office and remote work options.
Key qualifications:
- Law School Graduation or eligibility to take the NYS Bar Examination (Assistant Attorney
1) - Admission to NYS Bar (Assistant Attorney
2) - One year as Assistant Attorney 2 or admission to NYS Bar with one year of subsequent professional legal experience (Assistant Attorney
3) - Admission to NYS Bar and two years of post-licensure professional legal experience (Senior Attorney)
- Candidates may also qualify through 55b/c program certification or transfer qualifications under Civil Service Law Section 52.6, 70.1, or 70.4
