In-House Legal Advisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced In-House Legal Advisor to join their remote legal team, serving clients across South Africa. This role is crucial for providing proactive legal support and strategic guidance on a variety of commercial and compliance matters, all managed from a remote setting. • Review and draft a wide range of commercial agreements, including supplier contracts, NDAs, and partnership agreements.
• Advise on regulatory compliance, focusing on data protection, consumer rights, and industry-specific legislation.
• Conduct legal research and provide clear, concise advice on complex legal issues impacting the business remotely.
• Assist in managing legal risks associated with new business initiatives and operational changes.
• Liaise with external counsel when specialized expertise or local representation is required.
• Ensure all legal documentation is maintained and organized efficiently within a digital framework.

• Qualified lawyer with a minimum of 5 years' experience in commercial law, either in private practice or in-house.
• Strong understanding of South African contract law, company law, and relevant regulatory frameworks.
• Demonstrated ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a remote setting.
• Proficiency in using legal research databases and virtual collaboration tools.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, adapted for remote interaction.
