A law firm seeks an Associate Attorney for a remote position primarily managed from West Virginia. The role involves overseeing foreclosure and lending client case portfolios, with occasional travel for hearings. Duties- Draft legal pleadings, notices of hearings, motions, and orders.
- Research and analyze statutes, judicial decisions, and legal articles.
- Update case management system to ensure data integrity.
- Travel to court for appearances and visit client sites as necessary.
- Collaborate with management, colleagues, and paralegals for client service.
- Communicate and collaborate with clients and internal staff for effective case management.
- Identify legal issues requiring additional review.
- Establish a follow-up system to meet deadlines for pleadings.
- Manage a high volume of files with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Attend hearings, settlement conferences, and court appearances as necessary.
- Manage own caseload with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Draft pleadings and review materials prepared by paralegals.
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- West Virginia Bar Admission required; additional admissions in VA or MD a bonus.
- Federal District Court admissions in VA and MD a bonus.
- Willingness to waive into WV District Courts if not already admitted.
- Entry-level applicants encouraged; prior experience a plus.
- Eviction and Bankruptcy experience a plus.
- Experience with electronic case management systems;
Case Aware experience a plus. - Knowledge of laws related to practice areas, legal codes, and court procedures.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Ability to interact and collaborate with clients and employees at all levels.
- Flexible, self-directed, and motivated.
- Outstanding organizational skills.
- Ability to handle a large volume of cases.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products, such as Outlook and Word.
- Valid Driver's License.
- J.D. from an ABA-accredited law school.
- West Virginia Bar Admission required.
- Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office products.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Ability to manage a high volume of cases.
