Collections & Creditors' Rights Attorney (Full-Time Permanent or Engagement)
Are you a collections or bankruptcy attorney seeking to use your skills in a new role? Or, a civil litigation attorney who has dabbled in creditors' rights or bankruptcy? If so, take a look at this one. Latitude is working with a consumer debt collections law firm seeking Collections & Creditors' Rights Attorneys to help manage an expanding volume of litigation.
This opportunity can be structured as a permanent hire or a flexible, contract-based engagement. If engagement, our client anticipates sufficient work for up to 30–40 hours a week - built for attorneys who want to fold this work in alongside their own practice or other commitments, or those who simply prefer a flexible arrangement without the demands of a traditional law firm role.
The attorney will manage a docket of consumer collections files from initial filing through judgment and any collection efforts that follow, preparing and filing pleadings, motions, and other court paperwork in step with each jurisdiction's local rules. The role includes appearing at hearings, conferences, arbitrations, and trials — in person or virtually, depending on the venue — and negotiating settlements and payment plans directly with opposing counsel and unrepresented defendants.
The work is largely remote: case preparation and communication with clients can happen remotely, while hearings and court dates are handled in whichever jurisdiction the attorney is licensed and assigned. If opting for a contract engagement, the initial term is anticipated to be 3 – 4 months.
Our client is looking for coverage across multiple states and will consider applicants located and licensed in any of the jurisdictions below.
