Asbestos Attorney

Billable Requirement: 1,900 hours annually

A well-established litigation practice is seeking an Asbestos Litigation Attorney to join its growing team in Chicago, IL. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced litigator who is interested in developing a practice in the specialized area of asbestos and toxic tort litigation.

This position offers the flexibility of 100% remote work
, allowing attorneys to build their practice from anywhere in Illinois while working with an experienced legal team on sophisticated litigation matters.

• Manage a caseload of asbestos and related litigation matters from inception through resolution.
• Handle all aspects of litigation, including pleadings, discovery, legal research, motions, and case strategy.
• Conduct and defend depositions as appropriate.
• Prepare for hearings, mediations, and trial proceedings.
• Maintain organized case files and effectively manage deadlines and competing priorities.
• Develop familiarity with asbestos litigation, toxic tort issues, and the unique procedural considerations associated with these matters.

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
• 2+ years of relevant Asbestos Litigation, Product Liability experience.
• Active Illinois Bar admission and in good standing.
• Prior litigation experience required;
  background in any area of litigation will be considered.
• Strong legal research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.
• Experience handling cases through discovery and motion practice preferred.
• Asbestos or toxic tort experience is a plus, but not required

The annual salary for this position is between $125,000 – $160,000. Factors which may affect pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
