Associate Attorney

The Barton Firm, a boutique litigation firm in Washington, D.C., is seeking an associate attorney to join its practice. The firm represents employees in litigation involving ERISA/employee benefits, military service protections (USERRA), and employment disputes, handling both individual and class action cases nationwide.

This position is primarily in-office in Washington, D.C. but with flexibility for occasional work from home. The associate will work closely with an attorney with over 25 years of litigation experience and gain hands‑on exposure to all phases of litigation. Given the firm’s size, this role offers substantial responsibility and the opportunity to develop practical litigation skills early in your career.

Occasional travel may be required.

• Strong Exceptional legal writing and analytical skills
• Creative, solutions-oriented thinking
• Strong academic credentials from an ABA accredited law school
• Interest in employee rights and litigation
• Prior experience with class actions, employment, ERISA, or related areas is a plus (but not required)

• Admission to the D.C. Bar required
• Admission to another jurisdiction preferred

• Salary range: $100,000 to $125,000 (commensurate with experience)
• A bonus with minimum guarantee (subject to firm profitability and meeting certain billable hours)
