Job Overview
A law firm seeks an Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation Attorney with at least 8 years of experience for their Madison, WI office. The role offers flexibility in title and hours, with remote work options available. The candidate will provide comprehensive counseling on employee benefits and executive compensation, particularly in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
Duties- Research tax and ERISA issues affecting retirement, welfare, and fringe benefit plans.
- Review statutory and regulatory changes and advise on compliance strategies.
- Assist with due diligence, purchase agreement review, and benefits integration in corporate transactions.
- Draft employment agreements and incentive arrangements.
- Complete IRS and Department of Labor correction program filings.
- Counsel on ESOP transactions and ongoing administration.
- Advise on Code Section 409A compliance.
- Minimum of 8 years of law firm experience in employee benefits and executive compensation.
- Experience in mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree.
- Bar admission in the state of practice.
- Strong research and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
- Proficiency in drafting legal documents.
- Flexible work arrangements.
