LHH is working with prominent international law firm is seeking an experienced Conflicts Attorney to join its New Business Intake and Conflicts team. This is a primarily remote opportunity with occasional in-office attendance for team meetings.

This highly visible role is ideal for an attorney with strong law firm conflicts, ethics, and professional responsibility experience who enjoys analyzing complex legal issues and partnering with attorneys on risk management and business intake matters.

Key Responsibilities Analyze and resolve conflicts of interest related to new client matters, lateral attorney hires, and merger opportunities

Review new business intake submissions, conduct corporate research, and perform conflicts checks

Draft conflict waivers, engagement letters, joint representation letters, and ethical wall documentation

Advise attorneys on conflicts of interest, professional responsibility, and risk management issues

Evaluate and clear conflicts related to incoming partners, attorneys, and staff

Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda regarding ethics and conflicts questions

Assist with firmwide conflicts, ethics, and compliance initiatives

Lead projects and help improve conflicts processes and procedures

Collaborate with attorneys and firm leadership to resolve complex conflicts matters

Maintain confidentiality while managing sensitive legal and business issues

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) required

Active bar membership in good standing

Must be licensed in the state where you reside and where the firm maintains an office

Minimum five (5) years of legal practice experience

Minimum two (2) years of experience as a Conflicts Attorney or equivalent senior-level conflicts, ethics, or professional responsibility experience

Strong understanding of Rules of Professional Conduct and conflicts of interest principles

Experience supporting lateral partner hires strongly preferred

Ability to independently manage a large volume of complex conflicts matters

Exceptional legal research, analytical, and communication skills

Experience working in a fast-paced law firm environment preferred

Preferred Experience Reviewing and clearing conflicts for incoming partners

Law firm new business intake and conflicts analysis

Lateral attorney onboarding

Professional responsibility and ethics counseling

Litigation and law firm operational processes

Drafting waivers and engagement documentation

Compensation by Location Seattle, WA: $146,000-$231,000

Portland, OR: $140,000-$220,000

San Francisco Bay Area: $176,000-$279,000

Los Angeles, CA: $161,000-$254,000

San Diego, CA: $159,000-$251,000

Colorado: $138,000-$218,000

Texas: $140,000-$221,000

Illinois: $146,000-$231,000
