Responsibilities- Deliver and stock Medical Supplies and Linen in assigned locations.
- Receive merchandise and verify freight bills or packing lists from vendors and report discrepancies to a designated authority.
- Reconcile receipts with purchase requisitions.
- Inspect items for damage and completeness.
- Maintain stock levels in work areas.
- Follow precise instructions and adhere to inventory rotation standards.
- Process orders from requisitions, identify chargeable accounts and affect stock rotation.
- Recommend reorder quantities or times for stock items.
- Transport and deliver stock utilizing two- and four-wheel carts or pallet trucks.
- Identify stock using codes and item numbers.
- Load and unload inventory.
- Assist in reconciling stock shortages and inventory.
- Record items received, dispensed, or returned and perform item counts.
- Clean the assigned area of work and equipment.
- Must be able to count and do simple math. Must be able to use an Android hand-held device. Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 pounds.

- High school diploma, GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to perform a wide range of physical activities such as pushing, pulling, lifting, bending, kneeling, reaching, etc.
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 30 - 50 pounds.
- Must be able to pull linen carts up to 500 - 600 pounds.
- Must be willing to learn how to use electronic handheld devices.

Union AffiliationThis position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the AFSCME union, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
Background ScreeningMichigan Medicine conducts background screening and pre-employment drug testing on job candidates upon acceptance of a contingent job offer and may use a third-party administrator to conduct background screenings. Background screenings are performed in compliance with the Fair Credit Report Act. Pre-employment drug testing applies to all selected candidates, including new or additional faculty and staff appointments, as well as transfers from other U-M campuses.
