Position Summary

The Senior Logistics Analyst is responsible for analyzing, designing, and improving logistics and material flow processes across manufacturing plants, warehouses, and transportation networks supporting a building materials business. This role focuses on improving service, cost, safety, and asset utilization across high‑volume, heavy, and often bulk material flows.

The position partners closely with plant operations, transportation, procurement, and distribution teams to drive measurable logistics and supply chain improvements in a capital‑intensive, asset‑driven environment. 25% to 50% of travel is required with some flexibility to home office.

Key Accountabilities
  • Data Analysis & Modeling:
    Perform data mining, cost/benefit analysis, and network studies to improve logistics efficiency.
  • Performance Metrics (KPIs):
    Develop and maintain logistics dashboards to monitor transportation, warehouse, and supplier performance.
  • Optimization & Cost Reduction:
    Identify bottlenecks, analyze freight costs, and implement improvements to lower overall landed costs.
  • Transportation & Carrier Management:
    Manage complex shipments, negotiate with carriers, and resolve service issues.
  • Process Improvement:
    Create and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs) and leverage technology to streamline supply chain workflows.
  • Mentorship:
    Provide guidance, training, and support to lower‑level analysts and coordinators.
Required Education, Experience & Skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain, Logistics, Manufacturing Engineering, Business analytics or related field
  • 5+ years of logistics, supply chain, or inventory management experience required
  • Vendor management/qualification experience preferred
  • Exceptional negotiation and transportation pricing strategy skills
  • Experience with TMS, MRP, and JIT inventory practices is highly desirable
  • Strong analytical skills, critical thinking, and ability to effectively communicate to peers, execs and leadership. Excellent problem solving and analytical skills
  • Intermediate/advanced skillset in MS Office applications (Excel)
  • Experience with Palantir Foundry and Power BI a plus
