Inbound Logistics Specialist – Ocean

Overview

The Webstaurant Store, a Clark Associates company, is seeking a proactive, detail-oriented Logistics Specialist on our Inbound Transportation Team within the Logistics Department. The role manages booking and container flow for all inbound shipment volume, with responsibilities including daily reporting, stakeholder relationship management, carrier rate and contract ownership, process improvement initiatives, and booking exception management through various communication channels.

• Manage internal and external stakeholder communication to ensure high service levels.
• Maintain and foster relationships with procurement, ocean carriers, booking agents, and freight forwarders to problem solve, provide support, and make proactive decisions.
• Identify and execute process improvement initiatives to maximize team efficiency.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for cost reduction in the network.
• Daily booking exception communication and problem solving via email.
• Daily reporting to monitor carrier performance, cargo ready date discrepancies, and other buyer/vendor communication challenges.
• Act as a subject matter resource to internal and external stakeholders.
• Collaborate with other teams to accomplish department goals.

• Work is performed while sitting or standing and interfacing with a personal computer.
• Requires ability to communicate effectively using speech, vision, and hearing.
• Requires regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations.
• Requires occasional bending, squatting, crawling, climbing, and reaching.
• Requires the ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 lbs.

• Access to reliable high-speed internet (75 Mbps down / 10 Mbps up preferred).
• Access to a home router and modem; dedicated, quiet home office space with strong wireless or wired Ethernet connection.
• A physical address (PO Boxes not supported) to receive equipment.
• Comfort with communicating via chat, webcam, etc.
• Legal residents of listed states (AK, AL, AR, AZ, CT, DE, FL, GA, IA, , IN, KS, KY, LA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, MS, MT, NC, ND, NE, NH, NM, NV, OH, OK, PA, SC, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, VT, WI, WV, WY). H-1B Sponsorship Not Available; W2 only.

• 3–5 years of relevant experience in Ocean Import.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).
