Summary
The Supply Planning Manager aligns overseas and domestic production with U.S. wholesale objectives, ensuring supply is effectively managed to meet U.S. vehicle demand. The role works closely with the Vehicle Production Planning team, Subaru Corporation (S ) liaisons, and the Vehicle Allocation team to meet demand fulfillment for retailers and coordinates with logistics and Sales Operations to plan and prepare for vehicle processing.
CoreResponsibilities
- Manage and evaluate supply and demand fulfillment to support operational efficiency. Translate overseas production and shipping plans for all US production (approximately 350,000 import vehicles and 300,000 units of domestic production) into forward-looking supply strategies across seven US Ports and Subaru of Indiana (SIA). Balance inventory health, vessel timing, allocation demands, and financial targets while supporting approximately $24B in annual vehicle inventory.
- Own the end-to-end integration of vehicle supply review data. In Oracle / Vehicle Planning System (VPS), regularly review upcoming allocation positions, manage planned delivery and usage of port/plant supply, and evaluate allocation demands as data changes throughout the month.
- Provide strategic analysis of carline quantity availability by leveraging historical data and production intelligence to proactively identify risks, constraints, and optimization opportunities, delivering actionable, data-driven recommendations.
- Serve as a primary department user of Global Tracking Number (GTN) data and identify, communicate, and manage data inconsistencies with S liaisons and/or IT resources.
- Lead the department-wide monthly supply review and consensus planning process, serving as the primary strategic interface between Vehicle Planning, Logistics, and Sales Operations.
- Lead and develop a lead analyst, directing regular review and analysis of sales performance, market demand, production data, inventory, port capacity, and purchase order fulfillment to identify risks and imbalances; oversee analysis supporting model year production closeouts and new model year and carline introductions; partner with S to request shipping adjustments via GTN to rebalance supply and support high-demand markets.
- Partner with Fleet and Rental Sales, Logistics, and Accounting to strategically manage $500M+ in annual rental and commercial fleet volume, ensuring alignment with wholesale objectives, profitability, and inventory flow.
- Coordinate and execute retailer buy/sell setups, ensuring cross-functional alignment across Logistics, Accounting, Sales Operations, and Allocation teams prior to execution to support accurate inventory, financial, and allocation outcomes.
- Identify and lead continuous improvement and transformation initiatives related to vehicle planning, ordering, allocation, and supply visibility, focusing on system enablement and standardized best practices.
- Experience working across functional departments (e.g., Parts / Service / IT / Customer Advocacy).
- Knowledge of systems development including prioritization and budgeting.
- Intermediate Microsoft Office skills (particularly Excel).
- Ability to gain competencies in various applications, including Oracle ERP, OBI, and Qlik.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify process improvements.
- Ability to interact positively and effectively with staff at all organizational levels, including Subaru Corporation (S ) and vendors.
- Ability to manage and balance multiple priorities for the best business results while maintaining customer focus.
- Demonstrated leadership skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Bachelor’s degree required and 8 to 10 years of progressive experience required. Experience in lieu of a bachelor’s degree is acceptable. An advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MS, or related graduate degree) with emphasis on supply chain management, analytics, operations, or a quantitative business discipline is preferred.

The recruiting base salary range for this full-time position is $94,800 - $130,000 per year. Individual pay is determined by factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. This role is bonus-eligible, with a target bonus percentage based on performance.
