Macro Air Fans, founded by inventor Walter Boyd, pioneered the High-Volume, Low-Speed (HVLS) ceiling fan industry after discovering how improved comfort boosts productivity. Macro Air designs aeronautical-inspired fans for industrial, commercial, and residential environments — improving comfort and air quality while reducing dependence on traditional HVAC systems.
The RoleWe're hiring a Senior Supply Chain Specialist who owns the full purchasing cycle — demand signal to PO to receipt, not just order placement. This isn't a "run the existing process" role; it's a "build the process" role, in a lean team where you'll be able to craft outcomes. This role sits at the center of procurement, inventory, and vendor management.
Tacticalbuyer
— PO issuance, expediting, receipt tracking
Demand planner— S&OP cadence, forecast-to-procurement translation
What You’ll Own- Full purchasing cycle — demand signal, PO issuance, tracking, receipt
- PO discipline: approval workflows, dollar thresholds, vendor communication standards
- Multi-vendor, multi-component procurement for assembled capital equipment, including long-lead electro-mechanical parts (motors, drives, gearboxes, controls)
- Single-source risk audits, with dual-sourcing and alternative supplier development
- Translation of sales forecasts into procurement targets through S&OP cadence
- Vendor delivery performance, tracked through ERP data (open POs, promise vs. receipt dates, aging POs)
- Direct vendor accountability — escalation, renegotiation, performance conversations
- You can build process from scratch, not just execute someone else’s
- You catch single-source exposure before it becomes a shortage
- You know the difference between a critical-path part and a buffer-stock part
- You manage vendors by data
- You don’t miss the seasonal demand window
- You hold suppliers accountable directly, without a manager running interference
- Experience owning end-to-end procurement in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with multi-component, capital-equipment sourcing (electro-mechanical a plus)
- Demonstrated single-source risk management / dual-sourcing initiative
- Comfort with demand-driven, seasonal planning and SNOP cadence
- Proficiency in Acumatica or a comparable ERP
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, Business, or related field preferred
- Experience in a sub-$200M manufacturing company
- Background in seasonal or variable-demand industries
- Strong Excel or data-tool proficiency
- Real ownership of a function that’s being built, not maintained
- Direct exposure to production, finance, and executive leadership
- High visibility in a company mid-scale-up
- Room to shape policy and best practices, not just follow them
- Mix of procurement work, vendor calls, and production-floor coordination
- Hybrid schedule with some work-from-home flexibility
