In this position, you will monitor shipment activity, manage transportation documentation, communicate status updates, and support continuous improvement efforts to enhance operational efficiency and customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Enter and edit orders accurately in the Transportation Management System (TMS) and related spreadsheets.
  • Verify order accuracy in the TMS against the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system and route guides to ensure data integrity.
  • Track inbound and outbound shipments daily, monitoring status and identifying any delays or discrepancies.
  • Schedule delivery and pickup appointments with carriers and warehouses to ensure on-time freight movement.
  • Maintain accurate shipment data in ERP and TMS systems, ensuring all records are complete and up to date.
  • Communicate shipment status updates clearly and promptly to internal teams and relevant stakeholders.
  • Assist with resolving scheduling and appointment challenges to facilitate carrier pickups and deliveries.
  • Ensure transportation documentation, including Bills of Lading (BOLs) and Proofs of Delivery (PODs), is complete, accurate, and properly stored.
  • Update logistics dashboards and spreadsheets to reflect current shipment status and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with corporate cross-functional partners, warehouse team members, carrier partners, and third-party logistics (3PL) providers to support smooth operations.
  • Engage in occasional communication with customers to address logistics-related inquiries as needed.
  • Perform similar and incidental duties as required to support overall logistics and transportation operations.
  • Critically analyze logistics issues, perform root cause analysis, and work with others to develop and implement action plans.
  • Balance and manage multiple open orders and freight issues simultaneously in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Operations Management, Business Administration, or a related field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in logistics, transportation planning, or supply chain operations.
  • Working knowledge of a Transportation Management System (TMS) for order entry, tracking, and verification, with basic to intermediate TMS fluency.
  • Experience entering and managing orders in both TMS and ERP systems simultaneously.
  • Experience monitoring inbound and outbound shipments daily and flagging discrepancies.
  • Experience coordinating domestic freight, including scheduling pickups and deliveries with carriers and warehouses.
  • High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel and Outlook, as well as internet applications.
  • Proficiency in logistics software such as SAP, Oracle, or other TMS platforms.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Excellent professional oral, written, and presentation communication skills.
  • Strong communication and negotiation abilities for working with carriers, internal teams, and partners.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Ability to multi-task projects and required tasks in an organized fashion.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and collaborate with cross-functional partners.
  • Strong critical thinking skills to work through logistics problems and perform root cause analysis.
  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work independently with moderate supervision, including during remote work if required.
  • High level of organization with the ability to balance multiple freight issues…
