Purchasing Specialist

Brand Safway is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to support purchasing and procurement activities across the organization. This role is responsible for executing buying activities, managing supplier relationships, supporting negotiations, and helping drive consistent purchasing practices across multiple business locations.

The ideal candidate has hands‑on purchasing experience, understands the Procure-to-Pay process, is strong in Microsoft Excel, and can quickly learn internal systems in a fast‑paced environment.

Responsibilities
  • Execute purchasing activities across multiple categories while supporting cost, quality, and delivery goals.
  • Create and manage purchase orders through the full Procure-to-Pay process.
  • Support receiving, invoice reconciliation, purchasing controls, and related follow‑up.
  • Manage supplier relationships and support vendor performance.
  • Support supplier negotiations, competitive bidding, and three‑bid processes.
  • Promote the use of preferred suppliers and standardized purchasing practices.
  • Analyze purchasing data to identify cost savings, supplier issues, and process improvement opportunities.
  • Use ERP or procurement systems to manage purchasing transactions and reporting.
  • Create and maintain purchasing reports using Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables, filtering, sorting, and formatting.
  • Collaborate with operations, finance, supply chain, and branch teams to support purchasing needs.
  • Learn and become proficient in Brand Safway’s internal purchasing system.
  • Support category management and supplier initiatives as assigned.
  • Travel occasionally as needed.
Qualifications
  • 3+ years of procurement, purchasing, supply chain, or related buying experience.
  • Experience issuing purchase orders and working through the Procure-to-Pay process.
  • Experience managing suppliers, vendors, or purchasing‑related relationships.
  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, filtering, sorting, and reporting.
  • Experience with ERP, purchasing, or procurement systems such as SAP, Coupa, Ariba, Oracle, Basware, JD Edwards, Microsoft Dynamics, or similar.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to quickly learn new systems and processes.
  • Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
Preferred
  • Experience in construction, industrial services, manufacturing, equipment rental, building materials, or a related industry.
  • Experience with competitive bidding or three‑bid processes.
  • Experience supporting preferred supplier programs.
  • Category management exposure.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field.

This is a remote position. Candidates may be based anywhere in the continental United States. Eastern or Central Time Zone availability is preferred.
