Area Manager - Traffic

Position Summary

The role is responsible for overseeing logistics operations within a facility, ensuring production quality, safety, and efficiency. It involves supervising staff, coordinating carrier operations, and maintaining compliance with company standards to achieve facility goals.

Communicate with individuals or groups verbally and in writing (customers, suppliers, associates). Implement the area business plan, manage staffing, scheduling, assign duties, and coordinate workloads. Monitor and analyze productivity through business reports. Maintain quality and safety standards by ensuring associates are trained on logistics policies and procedures. Identify concerns from associates, customers, or suppliers and recommend corrective actions. Supervise and develop associates and leaders, provide feedback, and support training and evaluation.

Facilitate carrier operations: process and monitor carrier claims, coordinate with carriers and the home office, schedule unloads, and resolve concerns. Manage purchase orders, inbound containers, and claims, conducting problem research to ensure freight is processed correctly. Build inclusive teams, uphold integrity, serve customers first, and drive continuous improvement by adopting new technologies.

• Associates' degree in Business, Logistics, or related field and 1 year supervisory experience OR Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, or related field OR 1 year Walmart Logistics Management experience OR 2 years Walmart Logistics experience OR 2 years supervisory experience.
• Required to attend and successfully complete all job-required trainings and assessments.

• Experience as a Carrier Master Technician, scheduling coordination, customer service, information technology, logistics, Microsoft Office, supervising associates, transportation, and Walmart Logistics Systems.
• Bachelor's degrees in Business or Logistics.

• Annual salary range: $65,500.00 – $98,000.00. Additional annual or quarterly performance bonuses.
