About the RolePlanet is seeking a Global Supply Manager based in San Francisco, CA. The position is full‑time, hybrid, requiring on‑site presence 3 days per week. The role acts as a focal point for supplier communication, relationship building, and supply chain projects or process improvements to support Planet’s growth.
Impact & Responsibilities- Lead strategic procurement for suppliers, including planning, mitigating long‑lead purchase orders, and ensuring material availability for critical program timelines.
- Define, measure, and drive improvement on key performance metrics such as OKR fulfillment, cost reductions, and vendor management, including contract review and negotiation.
- Represent Supply Chain in Program Spend reviews; manage costs for assigned programs.
- Analyze component lifecycle status or production costs and influence engineering teams to make design updates when appropriate.
- Work closely with supply planners and EPMs to manage supply, expedite delivery during shortages, and own vendor relationships from start to finish.
- 6+ years of experience in a production environment, delivering results to leadership.
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field.
- Experience partnering with engineering and manufacturing leads to onboard suppliers, equipment, and capabilities for scaling.
- Excellent communication, teamwork, and stakeholder influence skills.
- Strategic and tactical thinking, persistent attention to detail, and comfort working with numbers.
- Independent work ability, multitasking with shifting priorities, and a positive collaborative attitude.
- Analysis, creation, and management of complex structured BOMs and configurations.
- Advanced Excel/Google Sheets skills with quick adoption of technical applications; familiarity with engineering drawings and specifications.
- Experience with mechanical or electrical systems, especially satellite bus systems or optical payloads.
- Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, including GD&T and specialty processes for quoting and program management.
- Proficiency in ERP and procurement tools such as Netsuite and Coupa.
- Understanding of export/import policy, including EAR, ITAR, and HTS, and collaboration with Compliance teams to manage export requests and technology control plans.

US base salary range for a San Francisco full‑time position: $101,400–$126,800
USD. Eligibility for discretionary short‑term and long‑term incentives (bonus and equity) may apply. Final salary is determined by experience, skills, and location.
