Logistics Specialist - Freight Brokerage

Role Description The Logistics Specialist – Freight Brokerage is a full-time hybrid role based in Memphis, TN, with some work-from-home flexibility. This role is responsible for coordinating freight movements, securing capacity with carriers, and matching customer shipping needs with appropriate transportation solutions. Daily tasks include communicating with shippers and carriers, negotiating rates, tracking and tracing shipments, and resolving service or delivery issues.

The Logistics Specialist will maintain accurate documentation, use transportation management systems to manage loads, and analyze data to improve service and cost efficiency. The role also involves collaborating with internal teams to support customer service, and continuous improvement in supply chain performance.

Qualifications

• Strong Communication and Customer Service skills to interact effectively with shippers, carriers, and internal teams.
• Solid Analytical Skills to evaluate rates, performance metrics, and shipment data for decision-making and problem-solving.
• Knowledge of Supply Chain Management and Freight Brokerage operations, including load planning and carrier selection.
• Experience with transportation management systems or logistics software and proficiency in basic office applications (e.g., Excel, Word).
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
• High attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, and commitment to operational compliance and safety.
• Relevant education or experience in logistics, supply chain, business, or a related field; brokerage or carrier operations experience is a plus.
