The Logistics Coordinator is a full-time, hybrid role based in Tempe, AZ, with some work-from-home flexibility. This position is responsible for coordinating air and ocean shipments, monitoring cargo status, and ensuring on-time delivery according to customer and carrier requirements. Daily activities include managing booking details, preparing and reviewing documentation, communicating with carriers, warehouses, and customers, and updating internal systems with accurate shipment information.
The Logistics Coordinator also assists with customs brokerage activities, supports inventory and distribution processes, and responds to customer inquiries to resolve issues and provide shipment visibility. Collaboration with internal teams to optimize logistics processes and maintain compliance with regulations is an important part of this role.
- Strong analytical skills to review shipment data, documentation, and logistics processes for accuracy and efficiency.
- Excellent communication skills for coordinating with customers, carriers, internal teams, and external partners.
- Customer service skills to handle inquiries, resolve issues, and maintain positive, professional relationships.
- Inventory management skills to support warehousing, distribution activities, and stock tracking.
- Understanding of supply chain management principles and basic international freight forwarding practices.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in preparing documents such as certificates of origin and letters of credit.
- Proficiency with common office software and logistics systems; experience with TMS or WMS is a plus.
- Ability to prioritize tasks, manage deadlines, and work effectively in a hybrid environment.
- Previous experience in logistics, freight forwarding, or customs brokerage preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s or bachelor’s degree in a related field is beneficial.
