Trade Compliance Specialist
Job Description
We are seeking a knowledgeable and detail-oriented Trade Compliance Specialist to manage and support trade compliance functions, with a strong focus on classification and trade compliance activities. This role involves working closely with various aspects of import and export compliance, ensuring adherence to relevant regulations and maintaining accurate records.
Responsibilities
+ Assign Harmonized Tariff Numbers, Schedule Bs, ECCNs, and other data requirements for products.
+ Monitor and evaluate changes in tariff/duty programs including HTS, Schedule B, ECCN, CVD/ADD, and Sections 301/232.
+ Coordinate qualification of goods and manage SPI-related certificates and entry audits.
+ Support post-entry activities including Post Summary Corrections, Protests, Prior Disclosures, and Voluntary Tenders.
+ Maintain a comprehensive product dictionary, ensuring accurate descriptions, classifications, country of origin, ECCNs, and FTA indicators.
+ Execute audits related to imports, exports, classification, and FTAs.
+ Monitor export control activity and manage relevant licenses/permits.
+ Support processes related to duty drawback or other duty/tax claims.
+ Assist with CTPAT or other trade compliance functions as necessary.
Essential Skills
+ Experience in Customs Compliance.
+ Understanding of customs import entries.
+ Strong attention to detail.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
Additional
Skills & Qualifications
+ Certification Preference: CCS or Customs Broker License (not required).
+
Experience with CTPAT is a plus.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Power BI.
+ Undergraduate degree in supply chain logistics/distribution, finance, accounting, international business, or a related field, or a minimum of 6 years of practical experience in customs and international trade.
Work Environment
This position offers a 100% remote work environment with potential for limited travel. You will be part of a team of four, including the Lead, with no direct reports.

This is a Contract position based out of Newark, NJ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $30.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
