The Account Manager – LTL is a full-time, hybrid role based in Overland Park, KS, with some flexibility for work from home. This role manages day-to-day LTL customer accounts, including handling quotes, bookings, and tracking shipments to ensure on-time, cost-effective delivery. The Account Manager communicates with customers, carriers, and internal teams to resolve service issues, provide status updates, and recommend solutions that optimize freight spend and performance.
Responsibilities include analyzing shipping data, identifying opportunities for process improvement, and supporting the development of tailored logistics solutions for key accounts. The role also involves maintaining accurate documentation in systems, following established workflows, and contributing to a positive, collaborative team environment.
- Customer relationship management and account management skills, including the ability to build trust, respond promptly, and maintain long-term partnerships.
- Knowledge of LTL and general freight operations, with skills in quoting, routing, and coordinating shipments across multiple carriers.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain logistics solutions clearly to customers and internal stakeholders.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills, including comfort working with shipment data, rates, and performance metrics to suggest improvements.
- Organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple accounts and tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency with common office and logistics software (e.g., MS Office suite and CRM tools) and ability to learn new systems quickly.
- Prior experience in transportation, logistics, or freight brokerage is beneficial, particularly in LTL account management.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or a related field is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment, collaborating onsite and managing responsibilities independently as needed.
