Your new role
As Director of People / Office Manager, you’ll be the central hub for staff management and office operations. Your responsibilities will include:
Acting as the point person for clerks and lawyers, addressing staff issues and escalating to external HR when necessaryOverseeing onboarding and offboarding processes for lawyers, clerks, and studentsManaging technology needs in partnership with external providersLeading recruitment efforts for 2L and Articling Students, coordinating with schools and lawyersRunning the student and articling programs, ensuring deadlines and processes are metSupporting lateral recruitment and scheduling interviews for new hiresOverseeing mentorship programs and associate feedback initiativesHandling renewals for key professional tools and registrations (Divorce Mate, Blackbook, Vaultie, LawPRO, LSO, CPD)Coordinating firm events, retreats, and external engagements such as awards and charity functionsManaging staff vacation requests, benefits, and absencesEnsuring smooth office operations, from supplies to building maintenanceSupporting performance reviews with datapilation andpensation rmendationsTracking significant client events for month-end billingWhat you'll need to succeed
Proven experience in office management and/ or people leadership within a professional services environmentStrong organizational skills with the ability to juggle multiple prioritiesExcellentmunication and interpersonal abilities to foster collaboration across all levels of staffTech-savvy mindset with confidence in managing office systems and liaising with external providersA proactive, solutions-oriented approach to problem-solvingFamiliarity with legal industry processes and student recruitment programs is an assetWhat you'll get in return
