The Program Manager for Internal Audit supports planning, coordination, and execution of audits, initiatives, and regulatory deliverables within the audit portfolio. This position ensures audit programs operate effectively, meet strategic goals, follow professional standards, and provide valuable insights to leadership and stakeholders. The role fosters collaboration between audit teams, business partners, and executives, promoting alignment, transparency, and ongoing improvement.
Partner with the best
The Internal Audit Department, established in 2006, reports to Akamai's Audit Committee under the Board of Directors. Its charter focuses on evaluating and enhancing risk management, controls, operations, and governance to support organizational objectives. The team includes fourteen professionals, offering remote, hybrid, or in-office work options. This role does not require travel.
As a Program Manager II, you will be responsible for:
- Helping with the development and maintenance of the
Annual Internal Audit plan in collaboration with audit leadership - Tracking the progress of audit engagements to ensure milestones, budgets and deadlines are met.
- Maintaining the Internal Audit roadmap, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities
- Overseeing the preparation of materials for audit committees and senior management
- Monitoring follow-up actions on audit findings to ensure timely resolution by business owners
- Driving process improvements, automation, and standardisation across the audit lifecycle
- Supporting the broader team with researching process best practices and audit risks.
- Facilitating lessons-learned reviews and continuous improvement cycles.
Do what you love
To be successful in this role you will:
- Have 3-5 years relevant program management experience
- Have a track record in managing end-to-end projects, ensuring timelines, milestones,
and budgets are met - Have excellent written and verbal communication skills for effectively presenting insights to diverse audiences
