Rincon Consultants, Inc. is seeking an experienced Supervising Fisheries Biologist/Senior Project Manager to join our Natural Resources team.
This role supports aquatic resource projects across California, managing fisheries-focused projects, supervising technical staff, overseeing workflow, and ensuring high-quality project delivery. The position involves collaboration with peers, junior staff, clients, and regulatory agencies on complex efforts. Preferred locations include Oakland, Monterey, Sacramento, or San Luis Obispo, with other California locations considered.
Flexible work arrangements, including a mix of in-office and remote work, may be available, depending on business needs. We prioritize hiring within 50 miles of a Rincon office, including Carlsbad, Fresno, Los Angeles, Monterey, Oakland, Palm Springs, Riverside, Sacramento, San Luis Obispo, San Diego, San Jose, Santa Barbara, and Ventura.
Key Duties and Responsibilities Technical Work- Minimum 8-12 years of environmental consulting experience, including technical, project management, and business development roles.
- Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Fisheries Biology, Aquatic Ecology, or related field.
- Experience with fisheries projects in California, especially Bay Delta, Bay Area, and Coast.
- Experience with fish surveys, habitat assessments, and regulatory permitting.
- Knowledge of federal and state permitting and compliance.
- Authorized to survey and handle listed fish species.
- Experience developing restoration plans and supporting agency coordination.
- Supervisory experience supporting junior staff development.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills, collaborative approach.
