About the role

As a Sr Consulting Manager, Trade Promotion Management and Optimization (TPx) – Consulting, you will make an impact by leading strategic consulting engagements for Retail and Consumer Goods clients, driving trade promotion optimization initiatives, and delivering high-value solutions. You will be a valued member of the Cognizant Consulting team and work collaboratively with client stakeholders, project teams, and junior consultants.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage TPx consulting projects for Retail/CPG clients, ensuring delivery of high-quality solutions that meet client objectives.
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of market trends, TPx software vendor landscape, and promotional effectiveness to identify opportunities to optimize trade spending ROI.
  • Develop and implement Trade Promotion Optimization strategies, including data and AI technology, business process, and organizational strategies.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key client stakeholders, acting as a trusted advisor on TPx matters.
  • Mentor and guide junior consultants, fostering a collaborative and high-performance team environment.

What you need to have to be considered
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business, Economics, Marketing, or a related field (MBA or advanced degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in the CPG industry with hands‑on experience as TPx user and/or TPx SaaS software (e.g., SAP TPM, Sales Force TPM, XTEL, Telus, Visualfabriq, etc.) implementation projects.
  • Deep understanding of TPx closed loop process including trade budget setting, promotion and account planning, claims and settlement, and trade promotion ROI analyses.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable insights.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and develop a team of consultants.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain client relationships, with a focus on delivering exceptional client service.

  • Experience supporting business development efforts, including identifying new opportunities, preparing proposals, and participating in client pitches.
  • Experience contributing to thought leadership materials, such as whitepapers, case studies, and industry presentations.
  • Familiarity with digital transformation initiatives in the Retail/CPG sector.
  • A hands‑on leadership approach and commitment to building high-performing teams.

Compensation
  • $135,000-$160,000
  • This position is eligible for Cognizant’s discretionary annual incentive program, based on performance and subject to the terms of Cognizant’s applicable plans.
