Project OverviewThe rapid growth of AI and digitalization is fueling unprecedented demand for data centers that require large, reliable sources of energy. In response to this market trend, the Renewables & Clean Power (R&CP) team have signed an early works contract to build one of the largest gas fired power generation facilities in the U.S. Our team is helping the customer progress early-stage development, that would lead to the start of full EPC in 2026.
The candidate will act as an Electrical Superintendent on the Combined Cycle Gas Turbine (CCGT) Project in Cheyenne, Wyoming. The candidate may start in the home office in Reston-VA; as single status, to support preconstruction planning, ahead of project mobilization to the field when the candidate will locate on a long-term assignment to the project in Cheyenne, Wyoming. This position is contingent upon project award.
Job SummaryThe Electrical Superintendent is responsible for activities of the electrical supervision team relating to construction within the electrical equipment, transformers, above ground & below ground raceway installation, cable pulling and termination activities. In this role, you will manage the organization and direction of project construction activities and oversee the management including supervision of construction craft personnel, cost and schedule. Your leadership will ensure project operations are compliant, safe, timely, within scope and budget.

- Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8
-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
- Responsible for permit acquisition, inspection coordination, and authorization of electrical installations in accordance with Wyoming statutory requirements.
- Manages the organization and direction of construction for above-ground and below-ground raceway installation.
- Creates cable pulling plans and oversees cable pulling activities, including management of cable yard and cable cutting programs.
- Manages the organization and direction of construction for electrical equipment installation and cable termination activities.
- Oversees the temporary power installation program and supports development of temporary power plans and single-line documents.
- Manages all electrical activities including work performed by Bechtel craft, subcontractors, and specialty support scopes.
- Oversees supervision of electrical journeymen and apprentices.
- Manages area expenditures for labor, equipment, materials, and services, ensuring field operations remain within budget.
- Establishes project field procedures and objectives within corporate policies and procedures based on jobsite conditions.
- Develops, implements, and administers jobsite security plans and coordinates activities with corporate security.
- Ensures development and execution of project plans including automation, environmental compliance, safety, site survey, staffing, subcontracting, labor strategy, Construction Execution Plan, and jobsite work rules.
- Plans and establishes procedures to ensure construction operations meet engineering designs and specifications.
- Monitors and directs subcontractor activities through coordination with subcontractor management within the area of responsibility.
- Must hold an active Wyoming Master Electrician License
, or hold a Master Electrician license from a reciprocal state through the exam process (Idaho, Iowa, South Dakota, or Utah) and be able to obtain Wyoming licensure prior to performing work requiring permit or supervisory authority. - Knowledge of Wyoming electrical licensing and permitting requirements, including responsibilities for self-performed electrical work, is preferred.
- Experience supporting combined cycle power generation or heavy industrial/energy infrastructure projects is preferred.
- Knowledge of above ground and underground raceway installation processes, electrical equipment setting, cable pull management, termination program management, temp power installation and energization experience is preferred.
- Computer literate in word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
- Working knowledge of applicable codes, standards, and regulatory requirements, including NEC compliance and applicable state and local electrical regulations.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving ability.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead teams.
- Maintain, promote, and cultivate a safe work ethic and work environment within the craft.
- Able to work extended work schedules and night shift as required to support the project execution plans and schedules.
- Demonstrated commitment to Environment, Safety and Health (ES&H).
- Demonstrable commitment to a Zero Accident safety program.
- Must have work authorization within the United States of America.
