Under the general direction of an Assistant Deputy Director of Annual Programs within the Division of Federal Financial Assistance (DFFA), the Manager II oversees and directs a branch of professional staff responsible for design, implementation and administration of federally funded Housing and Community Development programs, including Community Development Block Grant (CDBG), and Emergency Shelter Grant (ESG) programs. The Manager II also oversees and directs, through a Section Chief and Supervisor I’s, the HUD Reporting team.
The Community Development Branch is primarily responsible for the design and implementation of federally-funded community development and homelessness programs including the development of program guidelines detailing the use and requirements of federal funding programs, issuance of Notices of Funding Availability, application review, funding recommendations, fund disbursement and monitoring. The Branch is also responsible for HUD planning and reporting including the development of the five-year Consolidated Plan, the Annual Action Plan, and the Consolidated Performance and Evaluation Report.
Up to 15% overnight travel throughout the state may be required.

Under California Government Code Section 14200, this position is eligible for hybrid telework and may be eligible for full-time remote work in some circumstances and/or time-periods, at the sole discretion of the Department.
