Defence Construction Canada (DCC) is looking for a senior contract management professional to strengthen how construction services are delivered across Canada. In this role, you will support the National Director, Contract Management by leading initiatives that improve consistency, quality, and performance across all regions. You will work closely with regional leaders, industry partners, and Client‑Partners to resolve complex contractual challenges and enhance service delivery across the organization.

This position is ideal for someone who enjoys combining technical expertise, strategic thinking, and collaboration to influence how projects are delivered at a national level.

What You’ll Do National Initiatives & Service Delivery
  • Lead the development and implementation of national contract management initiatives
  • Prepare business cases, research activities, and support planning and budgeting
  • Coordinate work with regional service line leaders across Canada
  • Monitor national performance indicators and recommend improvements
  • Develop policies, procedures, tools and guidance materials
Contract Expertise & Risk Management
  • Review complex claims, change orders and contractual issues
  • Support negotiations and guide claim resolution strategies
  • Ensure compliance with government policies and trade agreements
  • Identify and manage risks associated with contract management practices
  • Provide specialized advice on contractual and legal matters
Quality & Training
  • Lead national quality management activities and verifications
  • Deliver national training and support regional training initiatives
  • Coach and mentor service line staff
  • Promote consistent practices and solutions‑oriented collaboration
Leadership & Collaboration
  • Build strong relationships with Client‑Partners, industry, and internal stakeholders
  • Lead project teams and national working groups
  • Provide functional direction and expert guidance across DCC
  • May supervise and manage team members
What You Bring

You are a strong fit if you have experience with:

  • Construction contract administration and dispute resolution
  • Managing claims and change orders in infrastructure projects
  • Developing procedures or national standards
  • Risk management and quality assurance processes
  • Coaching or mentoring technical professionals
  • Working with multiple stakeholders across regions or organizations
Education & Experience
  • University degree in engineering, architecture or a related field, with eight years’ relevant experience, or the equivalent
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities
  • Ability to interpret complex contractual and legal documents
  • Strategic thinking and business judgment
  • Excellent written communication (reports, technical documents, proposals)
  • Leadership and collaboration skills
  • Ability to work with diverse stakeholders nationwide
