What You ll Do
Strategize, analyze, plan, implement, and manage the education, training, and learning needs of staff. Coordinate the creation, development, and rollout of training and development programs connected to the entire business unit or community. Apply a variety of training methods (one-on-one, classroom, blended, just-in-time, team meetings, etc.) and a range of training materials.
- Coordinate the development, creation, and rollout of training and development programs aligned with the overall company and business unit strategy.
- Determine and guide training approaches to ensure programs correspond with marketing strategies and business unit objectives. Collaborate closely with business partners, senior leadership, and external partners/resources as necessary. Take full ownership of driving training for multiple complex products by leading, composing, and coordinating the implementation of training plans for complex departments/business areas.
- Develop, maintain, and coordinate the implementation of comprehensive training plans aligned with the overall strategy, including curriculum for staff, to increase their knowledge and ability to provide service.
- Engage with business managers, leaders, and the training and development team to develop strong internal development programs. Offer solutions aligned with the highest priority demands. Lead significant projects that might impact various business units or hold considerable strategic relevance.
- Provide informal leadership of the training team to include development and mentoring.
- 6+ years of related training, talent development, or instructional build experience
- 10+ years of financial services, insurance, or retirement experience is required. This can be demonstrated through work, training, military service, or education.
- Must possess analytical, leadership, problem-solving, decision-making, negotiation & consensus building, planning, facilitation, and presentation skills
- Must demonstrate effective organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Travel may be required
- Familiarity with sales workflows or enablement practices that can enhance the relevance and impact of L&D initiatives.
- Must be diligent and meticulous with the ability to manage change in a dynamic environment
- Must possess project management expertise and be familiar with company and business unit products, services, and operations
- Must have a strong understanding of company & business unit strategy
Salary ranges below reflect targeted base salaries. Non-sales positions have the opportunity to participate in a bonus program. Sales positions are eligible for sales incentives, and in some instances a bonus plan, whereby total compensation may far exceed base salary depending on individual performance. Actual compensation for all roles will be based upon geographic location, work experience, education, licensure requirements and/or skill level and will be finalized at the time of offer.

- $104400 - $163200 / year
The following locations are examples of market-specific salary ranges across different geographies.
- Grand Island, NE: $104,400 - $122,400 / year
- Des Moines, IA: $110,200 - $129,200 / year
- Charlotte, NC/Raleigh, NC: $116,000 - $136,000 / year
- Chicago/Minneapolis: $127,600 - $149,600 / year
- Los Angeles/New York City: $139,200 - $163,200 / year
Flexible Time Off (FTO) is provided to salaried (exempt) employees and provides the opportunity to take time away from the office with pay for vacation, personal or short-term illness. Employees don t accrue a bank of time off under FTO and there is no set number of days provided.

Work EnvironmentThis role offers in-office, hybrid (blending at least three office days in a typical workweek), and remote work arrangements (only if residing more than 30 miles from Des Moines, IA, Charlotte, NC, and Raleigh, NC). You ll work with your leader to figure out which option may align best based on several factors.
Preference would be hybrid working out of our Des Moines, Charlotte, or Raleigh offices but may be open to remote candidates as well.
