Home-Base position with Travel located in Orlando/ Miami Florida Region
Our Client is looking for a Senior Project Manager to join our Clients team in southeastern Florida Region. This position is home-based virtual and with frequent travel including overnight travel dependent on projects location.
OverviewThe Senior Project Manager is responsible for the end-to-end execution of complex mechanical, HVAC, and energy solutions projects within the public sector. This role serves as the primary owner of project delivery, ensuring a disciplined transition from design through installation, commissioning, and ongoing service support. Acting as the central point of coordination across engineering, construction partners, internal stakeholders, and customers, the Senior Project Manager drives schedule adherence, financial performance, risk management, and customer satisfaction.
This role carries full accountability for project outcomes, including cost control, margin performance, compliance, and field execution.
- Lead all phases of project delivery from design handoff through installation, closeout, and customer training
- Serve as the primary point of contact for customers, contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams
- Provide day-to-day leadership to field-assigned personnel and project teams
- Partner closely with engineering teams to support accurate estimating, pricing, and technical alignment
- Assist engineers in sourcing and evaluating mechanical, electrical, and construction contractors and vendors
- Select appropriate contractors, issue contracts, and manage all subcontractor performance and scheduling
- Ensure timely procurement and delivery of all project equipment and materials
- Own full project financial management, including change orders, revenue forecasting, billings, and margin control
- Monitor labor, materials, scope changes, and project modifications to maintain cost and schedule objectives
- Review project financial metrics including contract value, percent complete, billings, contingency, and margin
- Identify and address financial variances, including under-billings and margin deviations
- Maintain consistent, proactive communication with customers regarding progress, costs, timelines, and training
- Ensure customer satisfaction throughout installation and final project delivery
- Coordinate with management, finance, and accounting teams to ensure alignment and issue resolution
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, federal, state, and local safety regulations
- Enforce all internal policies, procedures, and safety standards across project sites
- Identify and mitigate project risks related to constructability, scope, cost, and schedule
Your background includes:
- Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university, with a preference for engineering or construction management
- A minimum of 5 years’ project manager and construction-related experience managing construction Mechanical / HVAC engineering projects
- Minimum construction related requirements include:
- Exposure to project development
- Exposure to working with and directing project teams
- Experience in developing schedules
- Managing project budgets Demonstrated ability to successfully manage projects from development to project closure
- Demonstrated ability to manage project budgets and project schedules, properly document projects, and work well with customers and achieve customer satisfaction on every job
- Demonstrated ability to work with others including customers in a professional and ethical manner
- Demonstrated working knowledge of OSHA, Federal, and State Safety regulations
- Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions
- Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables
- Ability to assist employees in understanding project objectives and specifications and seeing the other side of an issue
- Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
- Certified Construction Manager (CCM) preferred
- Designated Design Build Institute of America (DBIA) preferred
