The City of West Wendover, NV is seeking a City Manager for this remote high‑desert community located along Interstate 80 on Nevada’s eastern edge, approximately 90 minutes west of Salt Lake City. Sitting at an elevation of more than 4,000 feet, the city serves as both a gateway to Nevada and a destination in its own right, with dramatic desert landscapes, iconic landmarks, resort‑style entertainment, and a welcoming small‑town feel.

The City of West Wendover is a full‑service municipality in Elko County, serving approximately 5,000 residents across 7 square miles with a 2026 All Funds budget of $28.7 million and a team of 70 FTEs. Departments include Administration (Finance/Accounting, Human Resources, Clerk/Records), Community Development (includes the Tourism & Convention Bureau), Public Works, Utilities (Water, Sewer, Garbage), Police, Fire, and Municipal Court.

Incorporated in 1991, West Wendover is a General Law City with an elected Mayor and 5 Council Members.

City Manager Overview

The City Manager serves as the City’s Chief Administrative Officer, overseeing the administration and day‑to‑day operations of the City government. Under broad policy direction from the Mayor and City Council, the City Manager provides leadership, supervises Department Heads, coordinates with external agencies and organizations, and delivers high‑level administrative and professional support to the Mayor and City Council.
