Retail Sales Manager – Food (Home Based) Greater Vancouver or Fraser Valley, BC Our client is a local leading distributor and food processor in the CPG industry. They have partnered with Lock Search Group to recruit for a Retail Sales Manager to join the team. This is a home-based position with flexibility and only needing to be in the office one day per week.

They are looking for someone with a hunting mentality, People Management and Proven Sales Experience, ideally in CPG Space (Food/Alcohol/Consumer Goods). The Retail Sales Manager plays a pivotal role in enhancing the performance and engagement of the sales team. This involves coaching and training the team on effective techniques to improve efficiency and achieve results. Serving as a liaison between the sales team and headquarters, the manager collaborates on planning sales strategies.

Additionally, they are responsible for understanding and monitoring market and competitor trends, maintaining positive relations with various departments and stakeholders, preparing budget reports, and overseeing target management throughout the fiscal year. The manager also takes charge of planning and executing key sales events such as meetings, business reviews, and trade functions.
Responsibilities:
  • Leading the sales team to enhance performance and foster engagement.
  • Building a business and commercial plan to drive the team forward.
  • Providing coaching and training to the sales team on techniques for improved efficiency and results.
  • Acting as a bridge between the sales team to collaboratively plan sales force strategies.
  • Maintain and strengthen customer relationships in order to know and understand their strategic decisions, with the goal of creating a joint strategy moving forward.
  • Responsible for category and product performance for each customer based on expected sales, results and strategies.
  • Monitoring and comprehending market and competitor trends by category, and strategically looking forward to define new business opportunities.
  • Cultivating positive relationships with all departments and stakeholders.
  • Compiling budget reports and overseeing target management throughout the fiscal year.
  • Organizing and overseeing various sales events, including meetings, business reviews, and trade functions.
  • Help to lead weekly meetings in their Fraser Valley office
  • Qualifications:
  • Prefer a University Degree or Technical Certificate (Business, Marketing or related field)
  • 3-5 Years working with the CPG or Food Space (Food, Bev, Alcohol, Cannabis, Consumer Goods)
  • Strong relationship building, communication and time management skills
  • Clear understanding of markets, sales & distribution, competitor activity, consumer & shopper behavior, category management & business insights in the CPG context
  • Ability to communicate strategic vision, and execute on plans
  • Entrepreneurial mindset, innovative thinking with a high sense of urgency
  • Commitment to quality
  • Time/Priority Management Skills
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills to establish and maintain good business relations with customers
  • Demonstrated ability in adapting to fast pace sales environment, managing change and thriving in high energy atmosphere
